"Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tides"
The River, Garth Brooks
What is the 6 week Mental Fitness Programme?
Growing the mental ‘muscles’ to handle life’s challenges with the minimum of stress or negative emotions requires intense initial focus. Like learning any new skill, you’ll be rewarded exponentially for the effort you put in and this programme makes it easy to practice and embed new habits and ways of thinking – think of it like a mental fitness bootcamp but without the shouting and sweating!
By doing this programme, I guarantee you’ll grow the ‘muscles’ you need to sustain long-term change and dramatically increase your personal and professional effectiveness and wellbeing.
If we did an MRI scan of your brain at the end of this programme, we’d see the physical changes. The scan would show increased grey matter in the Sage parts of your brain (the areas associated with creativity, empathy, innovation and optimism) and decreased grey matter in areas associated with feelings of anxiety, frustration, anger, guilt and shame (where your Saboteurs live). By doing this programme, you are actually re-wiring your brain!
What’s involved?
This small group programme (max 5 participants in each ‘pod’) is designed to support you in implementing the Mental Fitness Operating System:
-
Intercepting Saboteurs
-
Activating Self-Command
-
Mobilising your Sage
The programme comprises:
Weekly 1-hour Video Sessions
These recorded sessions delivered by Dr Shirzad Chamine (originator of the Mental Fitness framework) guide you through experiential exercises that deepen and personalise your understanding of the mental fitness tools.
Personalised App Guiding Your Daily Practice
Each day a different focus for daily practice is assigned through a personalised companion app available only to programme participants. This builds one small muscle at a time, laying down new neural pathways to form lasting positive habits in your mind.
The app tracks your daily progress against minimum targets associated with new neural pathway (muscle) formation. Personalised daily coaching tips encourage and challenge you to keep going.
Within the app you also have access to the Mental Fitness Gym where you’ll find different self-command exercises that boost your ability to shift your mind from Saboteur to Sage response.
Weekly group check-in with Susan
The weekly group check-in meeting creates accountability and a space to share successes and learnings. Participants report that the group sessions are one of the best parts of the programme because of the support and encouragement experienced from each other. Many groups generate such a strong supportive bond that they keep going long after the 6 week programme ends!

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the right programme for me?
This is the right programme for you if you are:
-
Committed to improving your performance and effectiveness dramatically while reducing stress
-
Looking for a science-based and trusted system to make it stick, and
-
Willing to put in the initial effort to rewire years of mental habits that don’t serve you
Aren’t negative emotions sometimes helpful?
Some people believe negative emotions are helpful: for example, that stress drives them to perform better, or beating themselves or others up is helpful for continual improvement.
Feeling pain for a split second when your hand touches a hot stove is, indeed, helpful in delivering an important alert. But your Saboteurs keep your hand on the hot stove meaning you continue to feel negative emotions which harm both performance and happiness.
In this programme you learn to use negative emotions as a helpful alert and then quickly shift to the positive region of the brain that has the calm clarity, objectivity, and creativity to handle the challenge most effectively.
How much time and effort is required?
You’ll be committing to watching a 1 hour video once a week and doing a combined total of 15 minutes per day of practice guided by the Positive Intelligence app. You’ll also meet with your group (pod) once a week to share learnings and progress.
This might sound like a lot of time: in fact, cumulatively, it constitutes less than 2% of your awake time for the duration of the programme. Please consider that your Saboteurs are costing you far more than 2% of your time, effort, energy and productivity.
Consider how much more than 2% of time and productivity this 6 week investment will save you for years to come.
